For the first time in nearly a decade, extreme motorsport ice racing is returning to the Stormont Vail Events Center!
On Saturday, December 19, the XTreme International Ice Racing - XIIR brings intense, handlebar-to-handlebar racing to Topeka. Watch top riders push custom speedway bikes equipped with razor-sharp steel studded tires to their absolute limits on solid ice.
What to Expect:
High-Speed Heats: 4 riders, 4 laps of intense, handlebar-to-handlebar qualifying action.
The Main Event: The top 6 riders battle it out in a 6-lap, winner-take-all sprint to the finish!
Pure Adrenaline: Max traction, high horsepower, and unmatched speed right on the ice.
Many ask βWhy so little laps?β This is done for many reasons. Anyone that has ever ridden a speedway bike immediately understands and would never raise that question however, as a spectator it is a common question. The best way to explain: Why does a Dragster Bike only go a quarter mile instead of a mile? Answer: The engine would blow and the rider would not have enough strength and endurance to control the bike. Another reason is there simply isnβt enough ice. The grip of the steel studded tires would soon hit concrete causing the bike to gain too much traction and head straight to the wall!
