(TOPEKA, March 19, 2020) – See below for a statement from the Stormont Vail Events Center.
Dear Supporters and Friends of Stormont Vail Events Center,
We would like to update you on the status of the Stormont Vail Events Center and its upcoming scheduled events, as we aim to protect our community and control the public health threat, COVID-19.
After reviewing the current situation, the Shawnee County Board of Commissioners and Spectra believe we have an obligation to look out for the health and well-being of our entire community, and that is why the decision has been made to continue the closure of Stormont Vail Events Center to the general public and all scheduled events through April 30th.
We are continuing to work with many promoters and event producers to reschedule all events from March 13th through April 30th, and will provide regular updates as quickly as possible. For events that reschedule, the ticket purchaser will be notified of the date change, and the previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new date. Should an event cancel, ticket purchasers will be notified, and provided refund details as information becomes available. During this time, the venue will be thoroughly cleaned and ready for operation starting May 1st.
Venue staff will email patrons directly regarding the status of each event and performance as details are confirmed on event cancellations and postponements. The most up-to-date status of events will be listed on the venue website at www.StormontVailEventsCenter.com
Safeguarding the health and well-being of Shawnee County families, our fellow Topeka residents and all Kansans is of our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding as we all find our way through these difficult times as a community.
